FAQ

How is translation and review work paid?

Translation work is usually paid per source word. A discount model is applied for the various matches (100% matches, fuzzy matches, repetitions, etc) found in the Translation Memory based on the analysis log file generated by the Translation Memory tool in use. New words (with no match in the TM) are paid in full while there is an agreed discounted rate for each category.
Review work is usually paid on an hourly basis. The standard throughput for review is 1500 words per hour unless otherwise agreed with the Project Manager of the project.

How do I invoice ORCO?

For each project you undertake you will receive a Purchase Order (PO). The PO contains the type and amount of work as well as the amount of money you will receive for this particular project. You should always check that the PO is correct and keep it until you receive payment. At the time of payment our Accounts department will send you a list of the pending projects and the corresponding POs. Once you confirm the correctness of the list, you will be paid as agreed with our Accounts. Please note that you are required to send an invoice ("Απόδειξη Παροχής Υπηρεσιών" for freelancers registered in Greece) in order to receive payment.

How long does the internship last?

The duration of the internship is two to three months depending on the availability of the candidate and the workload of ORCO.

Is there a renumeration for internships?

The internship is an additional training where the interns have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, get acquainted with new technologies and also see how things actually work in a professional environment. Furthermore, ORCO often offers contracts to interns once they complete their internship. It is at the discretion of the company to remunerate an intern or not.
